Himalaya Art Series: Ice Blue

Ice Blue

Piece 2 or our World Challenge Art fundraising is again inspired by one of the Himalayan lakes.

Ice Blue

I really love this piece, your interpretation changes with the movement in the artwork, sometimes it is ice, sometimes water, but it has an live alien like quality which I think is really cool.  You can’t quite see from the photograph but there are areas of transparency and subtle flecks of sparkle in the green and white, which add dimension to this high gloss piece.

I like that everyone reads artwork differently, so I won’t be signing any of the pieces on the front, you can display them any way you like!

Reflection on Blue

My eldest son will be taking part in a World Challenge Expedition next year to Nepal.  I am so excited for him and actually very jealous, as it was my dream to go to Nepal and get to base camp!

In support of his fundraising, I will be offering up some artwork for him to sell or auction.  This first piece was experimental to see if glass coat resin would hold on a normal canvas without backboard support and the good news is it does! Hopefully this is the starting block for a series of wonderful glass coat resin paintings inspired by the Himalayan lakes.

Please feel free to give me your feedback on this, maybe you’d even like to support his expedition!
